Wed 28th June

Model: Melissa
Oil on canvas. 11x14. A simple art school pose but I chose to paint her from the front because it was more of a challenge than a profile which has less flat area and subtle changes of colour.
Time 2hrs.

Very nice Mark. I liked how you kept loose in terms of details... kinda reminds me of an old "glamour" publicity still from the bygone studio days, back when LA was a company town (as it should be).

Are you sure the model's name is Mellisa and not Rita?

=)

ciao. oh and ps, it's about time you posted something new =)

Hey Mark,
Thank you for your comment on my blog. Fantastic paintings here! Good to see you're doing some real art!
Things are okay over here but the gras is ALWAYS greener the other side of the fence.
There are some exciting projects on the horizon though, we'll see.
So good to hear from you!

Cool work. I think real live oil painting is a lost art on the blogoshpere. But these are nice. I like the colors and the work being done in a single session is very impressive I can't do it.
